New Manertchen district

Description ORGANISATION OF A COMPETITION
Ideas competition for multi-disciplinary teams, the project consisting of the creation of a new district of some 15 hectares at the place known as Manertchen in Echternach. The masterplan which is the subject of the competition is to design a concept for optimal quality housing according to the principles of sustainable development, while also favouring optimal solutions in terms of energy use. The winning project comprises 141 residential units in 3 different typologies. In terms of mixed use, the project proposes restaurant areas along with ‘Job-boxes’ with surface areas suitable for the installation of small sized structures.
